What had really occurred?
On 28th September Facebook published a report claiming that the company’s engineers have recovered those hacked accounts. 50 million accounts settings and the token function keys were reset and disabled by the company due to the illegitimate access. It is believed that a group of hackers accessed 50 million accounts where they were able to act like as their own profiles.
Meanwhile, Facebook has stated that they have fixed the issue without revealing that what exactly the information they had managed to access. Mark Zuckerberg’s company has asked the users to reset their password even those who were not impacted the data leak. To ensure the privacy of your account, do check on which devices you are logged in to.
In case if you find that you are not login anymore with this device then log-out. Bypassing the token key function does not mean that they have stolen your password and user ID and it is completely secured.
Go for the two-factor authentication
The time has come where you need to set-up two-factor authentications for your Facebook account as it will surely secure your account from any kind of unauthorized access. Whenever you try to login your Facebook account from the new device you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number to access the same.
